Texte : With this edition the organizer is adding another piece to the history of the Biennial, which, from 1985 to nowadays, has passed through Barcelona (1985/1987), Thessaloniki (1986), Bologna (1988), Marseilles (1990), Valencia (1992), Lisbon (1994), Turin (1997), Rome (1999), Sarajevo (2001), Athens (2003), Naples (2005), and has shown almost 10.000 young artists to more than 2 million visitors.

For the first time, the Biennial will host 900 artists coming from 48 European and Mediterranean countries, whose works will be presented all over the region, developing, this way, a reticular shape.

The Region Puglia, a multicultural land by definition, will welcome the invasion of different cultures and languages, expressed through more than two thousand exposed works and through almost one hundred musical and theatrical shows, performances, fashion shows and literary readings, that will liven up Puglia's territory for 10 days long.

This edition will represent a great aperture towards the near Balkans, through a prologue in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Sarajevo – a town symbol of dialogue and coexistence – and a sequel in Skopje, chief town of Macedonia, that will host the XIVth Edition of the Biennial in 2009.

Therefore, once again, the Biennial will promote the meeting and the intercultural dialogue through the use of the languages of culture and art, in the most important event dedicated to the emergent youth creativity of the Mediterranean, proving to be, at the same time, a great happening of young talents.

From 22nd To 31st May 2008
Exposition will stay until 30 June
