Texte : Finland's Ministry of Transport and Communications have declared that from July 1st 2010, 1 MB per second internet connection will be defined as a universal service, meaning that telecom operators identified as "universal service providers" must provide all permanent residences and business offices with a reasonably priced and high-quality connection at this speed.

Finland's Minister of Communications, Ms Suvi Lindén, believes this measure will assist sparsely populated areas, providing a good environment for businesses by improving the quality and availability of connections in rural areas.
